Wahington Post article here about a man, Maher Arar, suspected of involvement with AL Qaeda, sent to Syria, rather than Canada (he holds dual citizenship), since in Syria he can be tortured... Leading one to wonder if this means we won't be invading Syria after all, since we need them for our outsourced torturing needs?
The jokes are obvious. Others have made them (in the Calpundit (where I found this link first)comments, for instance), and all I can add is, well, another depressed sigh about the cynicism of our current government. Great going, W.
