I have to admit, this brought a chuckle. Paul Krugman goes after Bush again - this time, for his cultivation of the cult of personality.

The issue here goes beyond using the Government Printing Office to publish campaign brochures. In this budget, as in almost everything it does, the Bush administration tries to blur the line between reverence for the office of president and reverence for the person who currently holds that office.

The best line though is above that - "Somehow the art director neglected to include a photo of the president swimming across the Yangtze River." Unfortunately, I doubt the street protesters are going to start carrying around signs with Bush=Mao... I get the impression some of those sad bastards actually like the Chairman. Maybe Andrew Sullivan will...
