I have been remiss lately in blogging, though I guess that is not any big surprise... so anyway, having nothing much to write about, we'll do the old Around the Blogs! act....

Wampum Blog has had some fine entries lately, especially Dwight Meredith's posts about tort reform...

Atrios and others have linked to this Townhall article by one Matt Grills, commenting on Howard Dean's remarks on religion. Atrios quoted from the following:

Jesus fought mankind’s self-righteousness. Rich, poor – it didn’t matter. Jesus taught that unless you obey God’s Old Testament laws to the letter, you don’t have a fighting chance at getting into heaven. He taught that it all comes down to one question: do you rely on faith alone in God to save you, or are you counting on your own efforts?

Atrios only quoted the first sentence - it's the second sentence that makes it a rather interesting paragraph. From the tone of the article, and the tone of that "counting on your own efforts" line, one suspects that Grills thinks it's faith alone that gets you into heaven - but that's a direct contradiction of the first sentence. Now - I admit, I suspect what he meant to say is, Jesus said that following the Old Testament is impossible, thus only faith will get you into heaven. But he didn't quite say it - and in fact the whole article is argued in about the same sloppy manner...Though the whole thing is probably aimed at getting the "Howard Dean's wife is Jewish" line out into the world. Where it can work its special magic on the lowest common denominator of the American electorate.

And of course, there are serious posts to read. Josh Marshall and Mark Kleiman still care about Valerie Plame - what! that's so 3 months ago, you say? Well, hey... Kleiman also offers some pointed comment on the idiocy represented by Grills and "the always disgusting Cal Thomas" - focusing on their anti-semitism.
